We started our NOLA weekend thinking we don't need to blog about this because it's pretty familiar. But it's not commonplace for everyone around the world. No matter where you're from, New Orleans never disappoints!
Our first evening there, we checked into our hotel to find we had been given some high roller's room. We checked and they said take it - we'll get him another wine "amenity." The oysters from one of our favorite spots on Royal plus a 90s band (complete with a mullet-themed bachelorette party) rounded out the evening.
After coffee and unexpected window washers at the hotel next door, we spent a nice breakfast at Elizabeth's in the Bywater neighborhood.
What a treat on our regular visit to Frenchmen Street! So many great bands, so little time.
The show at Bamboula's was especially entertaining. Check out the jazz chops of the band members and showmanship of the front man-with overalls, tap dancing and high heels (what a combination)!
Nice food in the evening and some artsy views in the French Quarter.
Then some fantasy football time on Sunday before moving on.
Another great long weekend in a unique city. Liassez les bons temps rouler (let the good times roll)!
